This is a combination of the Baixa seen from The Castle in Lisbon and from the court yard of the Nation Tile Museum. In my minds eye they compliment each other.

This photo was a happy accident, taken on the twisty two lane roads that follow along the Douro River in central Portugal. With the Holga there is plenty of opportunity for accidents some actual turn out OK. I like this one.

Last fall we spent a long week end on Vancouver Island. Canada is not far from here, it is different enough that you know you are in a foreign country. We have made trip to Victoria almost every fall for a decade, I recommend Victoria as an easy city visit, walkable, lots to do and the people are very friendly.

We came home via the Black Ball Ferry that sails between Victoria and Port Angeles. It was an overcast and moody day, the strait was calm and the crossing short (90 minutes).

Mike has a very unique style and sensibility. He and his family spend most the year in Istanbul, and summer each year in the wilds of Eastern Washington in the house he built himself from lumber milled on his property.
